Where is OBC located?  Orangeville high school ODSS at 22 Faulkner Street, double gyms at the West entrance. There are 6 courts so we can have up to 24 people playing at a time.

How do I join?  Use the Join Club link on menu bar above, when space is available you will be contacted.  Wait time is up to 12 months.

What if I am returning member who took a few years off?  Former members must reapply through the waitlist on join page and will be given priority status if absent due to medical issues or are returning after a 1-3 year absence.  All other cases, including first time members is first come first serve.

Is there an age limit?  This is an adult club. Members must be at least 18 years old.  We do offer a junior program on Thursday’s between 6:00 and 7:00 for ages 14 to 17, no exceptions and dependent on volunteers and sufficient interest run the program.

What are the fees per operating season? All fees are subject to change without notice.

Adults 18 and over are $103 for the full season September to June, If joining later in the season the following fee schedule applies:

  • Join the club Sep – Dec $103
  • Join the club Jan – May $50
  • Join club in the month of May or June $25
  • Juniors 14-17 year of age $21

Do you offer refunds?  The club is not for profit, when we secure the space we have to pay for it and insure it, whether players show up or not.  For this reason all payments are non-refundable unless there is a “proven” medical reason a player can no longer attend.  Refunds are pro-rated and less transaction and admin fees.

What equipment do I need?  A badminton racquet, qnon-marking court shoes and regular gym/workout attire, no outdoor shoes on gym floors please. Juniors 14 to 17 require badminton approved protective eye-ware.

Do you accept guests or visitors? There is currently no guest drop-in as we assess our membership numbers and attendance. If space allows we will announce if and when guest access is available.

What does membership include/cover?  Social activities, tournaments, nets, birds, end of year party, courts access for season, insurance.

What skill levels? We have all skill levels from beginner to advanced, doubles, singles, competitive and non-competitive play.

Do you have loaner racquets?  Yes but limited supply. Loaners are intended to assist if you break a racquet while playing but not for ongoing use.
